Live and Learn As life becomes more difficult, from trials we must face... we learn to trust with all our heart and rely upon God's grace. Lessons come through every trial, and this is how we grow... even times when we feel lost, the love of God still flows. Darkness comes for just a while, but soon, we find the sun... then we start to realize, God's work is being done. The strength in us, begins to show, at every twist and turn... so thank the Lord, for every trial, it's how we live and learn. © Jill Lemming - used with permission
“But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?” - Matthew 26:54TRefashioned The lady stood and gazed into The mirror on her wall, And what she saw reflected there Made her feel so small. She sought the perfect makeover With blush to add a glow, Adorned herself with sparkling jewels, Wore style from head to toe. Yet nothing seemed to change her view; With every passing glance, She witnessed in her mirror there Her failing countenance. She said, “I know what I must do. I know who will help me. I will now seek my Designer Who carefully fashioned me.” She bowed before the Lord in prayer And asked Him to come in To cleanse her heart and save her soul And change her from within. Refashioned in Christ’s likeness now Her beauty one could see; The image in her mirror viewed Appeared much differently. She saw the kindly eyes of Christ, A smile upon His face, For now the image that she bore Reflected God’s sweet grace. © 2005 Linda J. Stevenson - used with permission
“Put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteous and holiness” (Eph. 4:23b-24).
Refreshing Sleep
WORDS OF WISDOM:
Refreshing Sleep "So he giveth his beloved sleep." (Psalm 127:2)
Ours is not a life of anxious care but of happy faith. Our heavenly Father will supply the wants of His own children, and He knoweth what we have need of before we ask Him. We may therefore go to our beds at the proper hour and not wear ourselves out by sitting up late to plot, and plan, and contrive.
If we have learned to rely upon our God, we shall not lie awake with fear gnawing at our hearts; but we shall leave our care with the Lord, our meditation of Him shall be sweet, and He will give us refreshing sleep. To be the Lord's beloved is the highest possible honor, and he who has it may feel that ambition itself could desire no more, and therefore every selfish wish may go to sleep. What more is there even in heaven than the love of God? Rest, then, O soul, for thou hast all things. Yet we toss to and fro unless the Lord Himself gives us not only the reasons for rest but rest itself. Yea, He doth this. Jesus Himself is our peace, our rest, our all, On His bosom we sleep in perfect security, both in life and in death. Sprinkled afresh with pardoning blood, I lay me down to rest As in the embraces of my God, Or on my Saviour's breast.
- CH Spurgeon
Reality
I am five feet, three inches tall and pleasingly plump. After I had a minor accident, my mother accompanied me to the emergency room. The ER nurse asked for my height and weight, and I blurted out, "Five-foot-eight, 125 pounds." While the nurse pondered over this information, my mother leaned over to me. "Sweetheart," she gently chided, "this is not the Internet. The people here can actually see you"
~~~~~*~~~~~
I pray for you
"Dear friend, I know that you are spiritually well.
I pray that you're doing well in every other way and that you're healthy."
- IIIJohn 1:2 God's Word
A GIANT FLOODLIGHT
"To live by the law of Christ and accept him in our hearts is to turn a giant floodlight of hope into our valleys of trouble."
- Charles R. Hembree
Accepted! Why?
"You are not accepted by God because you deserve to be, or because you have worked hard for Him; but because Jesus died for you."
- Colin Urquhart
