There are 158 books in the required reading list. Forty-nine of these books have examinations. The examinations have questions covering comprehension, vocabulary (antonyms), sentence completion, and analogies.  These tests are in the same format as the SAT's.

There are 7 science books, 2 of which have separate answer keys, for the child who has completed math through calculus.  Also, there are 78 optional books for the younger grades, in case a child needs more practice reading at the lower levels before moving on.

As Dr. Robinson lays it out in the Course of Study (which is on the CD's) the child's schedule should be:

• 2 hours math - 1 lesson completed, checked for errors, errors reworked until correct
• 1 hour writing - rewrite previous day's essay with corrections, write new essay
• 2 hours reading - read from books on list, or other good quality book of parent's choice; study vocabulary words

• The Course of Study, which explains how to use the curriculum
