God sends the rain so we value the sun.
He gives us work, so we can rest when it's done.
He gives us pain, so we know the joy of relief,
Helps us to smile even though we have known grief.

God sends the snow to blanket the fields,
So frozen ground can send forth spring yields.
God may send us little when we ask for a lot,
To teach us the difference between have and have not.

He helps us to reach, through darkness and pain
To forgive and forget again and again.
It's all part of our growing, part of His plan
To help us change "can't" and "won't" to "I can!"

His wisdom is there, though it may not be clear
But His loving us will cut through the fear.
So take my hand, dear one ... walk with me in His light
Together we'll weather the storms and the night.

Joined in His guidance, His power, His love;
We'll walk in His world as He watches from above.
Together we'll share each smile and each sigh,
Knowing His strength will help us get by.

More than that, it will help us to soar and to sing,
As we thank Holy God for each little thing.
For it is He who paints the sky, the stars, and the sun.
It is He who brought us together ~ two to be one.

It is He whom we humbly praise, magnify, laud,
To our dear Savior, Spirit, and God!
With thanksgiving, glory, and love ...
