Our Little Corner
Tufts of prairie grass singing far-gone ballads of before -
Soft blades waving to watching clouds in ever-patient heavens
Faint yesterdays waiting inside bright tomorrows
Poised to take wing again,
Familiar visions and lingering vistas
Eons of then blending into moments of now and forever
Picturing stalks with golden ears standing straight and tall
Red barns against green fields
White walls and climbing ivies
Aromas of fragrant blossoms and sights of brilliant green
Sounds of trusty tractors and lowing cows
Past pilgrims and present souls
Searching skies and fertile earth
Promises tucked inside the furrows and hidden in the sacred soil
Dreams of planters and tillers
Hopes of keepers of the land
A little place with giant dreams
Wrapped in love
Blessed by heavenly breezes and kissed by the sun and stars
Designed by the Master and created by His Hand
Guided by His angels
Guarded by God Himself, and lent to man in trust ...
There sitting quietly, waiting,
Breathing the song of tomorrow mixed with the essence of past and present
There in a little corner of the world
OUR corner, OUR world,
Our beginning, our future
Our little world
Our farm
For Virgil with love and hope and promise
