WELCOME TO
OUR PRAYER ROOM

We are Christians, and we always pray to God. What is prayer? Since I am neither a theologian nor a member of the clergy, I can give you only a simple explanation. As I see it, prayer is like conversation with God. Christians talk to God, that is, our Father in Heaven, just as little children talk to their fathers. Children love to share their feelings with their parents. Children cry out to them when they are in pain. Children love the company of the people they trust and they enjoy chatting with them. In the same way, Christians can tell anything to God through our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Christians not only TALK to God, but also LISTEN to Him as we pray. When we present our requests to God in our prayers, we LISTEN to Him, thinking of what we have been taught through the Bible. In this way, God tells us what we should do to cope with the situation in His way, rather than in our selfish ways.

The ministers say that the two most important things in our life is reading the Bible, that is the Word of God, every day and praying constantly to God, who listens to our prayers, We think that reading the Bible can be compared to having a delicious and nutritious meal. Praying to God can be compared to breathing. If we did not read the Bible, we would starve spiritually. If we did not pray, we would be suffocated.

If you haven't accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior yet, and want to know more about what it means to be a Christian, please visit one of the following external sites.

I became a member of Annie's E-Mail Encouragers in May, 2003. Since then, I have been more and more convinced that God listens to every prayer of ours. Of course, it doesn't mean that He will do whatever we ask Him to do. What we believe is that He listens to our prayers attentively, and that He never fails to give us what we truly need in His own way, in His own time.

I remember a minister telling us again and again that the best way to learn how to pray is to keep praying constantly. She is absolutely right. I am happy to be a Christian, because I can share prayers with fellow Christians all over the world.

Here are some verses that encourage us to keep praying.

Philippians 4:6,7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 4:14-16

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Romans 8:22-39

We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 3Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died
·more than that, who was raised to life ·is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:
   "For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Matthew 18:19--20

Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for , it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.

Ephesians 6
:10-18

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
