We spent a lot of time at Aunt Virginia's house looking through pictures. She is the one who has the pictures of Grandma and Grandpa Gray and Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Hill that I photographed for the Cemetery page.
My cousin, Dennis Gray, is in charge of maintaining public housing in the area. When he comes home, he is in charge of maintaining his own home, Aunt Hazel's home, and Aunt Virginia's home. Here he is mowing the lawn at the latter location.
Although it's not the only vehicle he drives, Dennis owns an awesome red Corvette Stingray. Beautiful, isn't it?
My mother came to Missouri on the bus about a month before our trip to be with her brother before his death. At the time, she met Dennis' wife, Brenda. Shortly before our trip, Mom told us that Brenda was a very sweet person who worked at a nursing home (certainly a difficult job at best) and enjoyed helping the elderly residents. My sister, Brenda, who had not met her yet, said, "Well, she certainly has a good name." And, of course, they are both right.
Each evening, and sometimes through the day, I downloaded my pictures from my camera to my laptop computer. I certainly couldn't have taken this many pictures or had as enjoyable a trip without it. And I would have missed getting online, which I managed to do a couple of nights. The dolls on each side of the computer were given to us by Brenda Gray. They are made and sold by an elderly lady who is one of the nursing home residents where she works. The proceeds go to St. Jude's Research Hospital - the one that treats juvenile cancer cases. The dolls are called "Dammit" dolls and are for the safe expression of anger. I'll leave to your imagination how it's done.
