IRENE LANDSAW JACKSON - 82 YEARS OLD
Irene L. Jackson
SPRINGHILL — Irene Landsaw Jackson, 82,
of Springhill Road went to be with the Lord and was reunited
with her husband, Jack, on Saturday morning, June 9, 2007,
in Ruxton Health Center of Staunton.
She was born on July 23, 1924, in Vancleeve, Ky., a daughter
of the late William and Lizzie (Robinson) Landsaw.
Irene retired from Western State Hospital as a psychiatric
charge aide after 31 years of service.
She was a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church and the AARP.
She enjoyed cooking and gardening. Her greatest love was her
family.
Survivors include four daughters, Jackie McCary Price, Sue
Jackson Diehl, and Barbara Flavin Carter and her husband,
Daniel, all of Staunton, and Linda Marzell Helmick of
Springhill; 10 grandchildren, Angelia McCary Sumner, Diana
McCary Cutting, Stephen Michael McCary, Sherry Diehl Ramsey,
Kelly Diehl Brown, Daniel A. Diehl, David P. Flavin, Scott A.
Flavin, Darby Helmick and Melissa Gray; 12 great-grandchildren,
Nicholas and Adam Farlow, Chassidy Helmick, Cody Clifton, Cory
and Jeremy Jackson Ramsey, Trevor and Mariah Smith, Brooklyn
Gray, Morgan Diehl, Priscilla and Pearson Parks; two great-
great-grandchildren, Kalilah Palmer and "Alex" Farlow; two
brothers, William of Kentucky, and John of Ohio; three sisters,
Lorene, Pauline, and Cora-Bell, all of Kentucky; two step-
grandchildren, Kris and Nikki Kallas; a number of nieces and
nephews; two special friends, Jerry and Tony; and two special
extended family members, Kirk Gray and Sherri Kallas.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in
death by her stepmother, Dona Landsaw; three brothers, Ray,
Hoover, and Phillip; and two sisters, Ruth and Shirley Faye.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday,
June 12, 2007, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Revs.
Dale Meyerhoffer and Everett McCulley. Interment will follow in
Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Buck Jackson, John Landsaw, Jimmy
Jackson, and Ishmael Burton.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Monday,
June 11, 2007, in the funeral home.
